This app is a game for your household. It keeps track of who cleans what – it doesn’t make contracts or settle disputes. Whatever you agree on among yourselves is up to you.
These terms apply between you and the provider (see Legal Notice) for the use of the app “Chore Duel”. The app is free to use and contains no ads. Additional features are optionally available with “Chore Duel Pro” (see below).
“Chore Duel Pro” unlocks additional features, for example notifications, widgets, color themes, app icons, “Who does what” and the points calculator. There are three options:
Monthly subscription: renews automatically for one month at a time unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Yearly subscription: renews automatically for one year at a time unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If there is a free trial, payment only starts when the trial ends; if you cancel before that, you pay nothing. If notifications are allowed, the app reminds you two days before the trial ends.
Forever: a one-time purchase that doesn’t renew.
Buying, paying and canceling happen exclusively through the App Store with your Apple Account. Apple’s terms apply. You can cancel at any time in your device’s Settings under your name → Subscriptions. Refunds are requested from Apple.
Pro covers the whole household: Anyone who buys Pro while connected to a household unlocks Pro for all members of that household. When a subscription ends, Pro also ends for the household – after a short grace period of at most one week.
Points, tasks and all data are kept when Pro ends – only the Pro features are locked again.
Points, levels and badges are part of a game. They don’t create any claims and are not legally enforceable. What your household makes of them is up to you – the app just keeps score.
Only enter data you’re allowed to enter. Ask your roommates before adding their name or photo.
Don’t use the app to insult, embarrass or pressure others.
Only pass each invitation on to the person it’s meant for. Whoever joins can see your data.
Don’t try to technically manipulate or overload the app or the sync.
The app is provided “as is”. The provider strives for error-free operation but cannot guarantee that the app is always available and free of errors. Syncing requires a device with active iCloud and an internet connection and depends on Apple’s services.
Take care of backing up your data yourself, for example via your device’s regular backup.
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
In cases of simple negligence, the provider is only liable for breaching an essential contractual obligation – that is, an obligation whose fulfillment makes proper use of the app possible in the first place and on which you may rely. In this case, liability is limited to the typical damage that was foreseeable when the contract was concluded. Any further liability is excluded.
Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or any claims relating to it. The provider alone is your point of contact.
These terms may change with future versions; the version included in the installed app applies. German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected. This English text is a translation; in case of doubt, the German version prevails.
